The Tool Library is an all-volunteer nonprofit tool-lending library in Buffalo, New York. We are located off of Main Street in Buffalo’s University Heights neighborhood. For a small annual fee, our members — including people, organizations, and businesses — can borrow from our inventory of over 3,000 tools. Our tools are also used to work on large-scale community projects such as neighborhood clean-ups, tree-plantings, community gardens, and public art installations.
The Tool Library also has a Community Laboratory that is right next door. It is used to host hands-on DIY workshops. Additionally, we have the Dare to Repair Cafe where you can bring broken items (lamps, small electronics, vacuums, toys, etc.) to the repair cafe and have volunteer “fixers” try to fix your item for free! Simply go to our website for more information on how to proceed.
We welcome your donations! They can be dropped off at The Tool Library during our open hours. Donations are tax deductible so if you would like a receipt, just let us know. If you have any questions about your donations, please send us an email or give us a call.
