Gaia Grocery

Gaia Grocery is a super natural grocer in Tofino, British Columbia, with a focus on sustainable, local, and organic goods. Every item at Gaia Grocery has been thoughtfully selected, with an inclusive focus on health and variety. We also strive to be as minimal waste as possible by offering a large selection of our items either plastic-free or package-free.

Our fresh produce is offered plastic-free and/or package-free depending on the season. In our zero waste bulk section we have over 70+ bulk bins so that you can stock your pantry with dry bulk goods while also reducing waste. We also have a refill station where you can bring your own containers to refill them with bubble bath, hand + body wash, dish soap, and all-purpose cleaner!

Get your favourite flavours of kombucha on-tap, simply grab a growler and fill ‘er up. When you’re done, bring your clean and sanitized growler back and we’ll refill it for you! At our juice and coffee bar either bring your own beverage container or you can order your drinks in a reusable to-go cup from The Nūlla Project. It’s super simple! Rent a Nūlla cup for $5, and when you’re done, return the clean cup at any participating location for your deposit back. That way you don’t have to remember your own cup!

We have also partnered with Reusables Vancouver Island to provide reusable takeout containers, so you can order take home meals from our deli waste-free. You simply have to sign-up to be a Reusables VI member for only $5/month and then you’ll have unlimited access to their zero waste takeout containers at any participating restaurant or grocery store, e.g., Gaia Grocery.

In addition to our bulk, package-free, and returnable container offerings, we also carry many food and household items in either glass jars or bottles, aluminum containers or cardboard packaging, all plastic-free. Visit our store to see everything we have to offer!
