Friendlier is a zero-waste, reusable food packaging service that aims to reduce single-use plastic waste generated by disposable food packaging in a simple and convenient way. We provide businesses with reusable plastic cups and containers so that when you order your food at our participating locations you don’t need to worry about the waste. We also take care of the delivery, pick-up, and washing of the reusable containers.
We currently supply businesses with reusable containers in Guelph, Elora, Fergus, Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, London, Stratford, Grand Bend, St. Jacobs, and Hamilton.
How Our Reusable Container System Works
Step 1) Find a restaurant, food truck, caterer, prepared meal provider, or food service operator that carries our containers.
Step 2) Purchase your meal in one of our Friendlier Containers, with a deposit included.
Step 3) Enjoy your meal!
Step 4) Connect to our mobile application and scan the QR code on your container OR if you don’t have a phone, head on over to our website to enter in the QR number. Your refund will then be pending while we wait for the return of your container.
Step 5) Return your container either to any of our locations’ collection bins or you can request a home pick-up.
Step 6) When we collect the containers from our partner locations or your home, you will receive your deposit refund either via our app or e-transfer.
